Frequently asked questions

Does the timesheet total hours automatically?

Yes. Each employee row totals Monday–Sunday into a Total Hours column, and the crew-totals row sums every day and the reg/OT/DT columns. You enter daily hours; the totals calculate.

Can I track cost codes?

Yes — there's a cost-code column per employee plus a header cost code, so you can keep a sheet per cost code or tag each line for job costing.

Does it handle overtime?

There are separate Total Reg, Total OT, and Total DT columns you fill based on your overtime rules. The template doesn't auto-split OT (rules vary by state and contract), but it gives you the structure to record it.

Is it payroll-ready?

It's built to feed payroll — name, classification, cost code, daily hours, and reg/OT/DT totals are exactly what most payroll systems want. For automatic GPS-verified hours that export straight to ADP/Paychex/QuickBooks, see Field PM's time clock.

The weekly hours, without the math

A crew timesheet captures who worked, how many hours, and against which cost code — the raw material for both payroll and job costing. This template gives you 20 employee rows across a full week, totals each worker's hours automatically, and sums the whole crew at the bottom with separate regular, overtime, and double-time columns.

Keeping the cost code on the timesheet means the hours can flow into job costing, not just payroll — so you can see labor against budget by code instead of one lump number.

Paper and Excel timesheets still depend on someone re-keying hours and trusting the count. Field PM's GPS time clock captures clock-ins with a photo and location, pre-fills the daily report, and exports payroll-ready CSVs for ADP, Paychex, and QuickBooks — no re-typing.
