AI Connector
Connect the AI app your team already uses — Claude, ChatGPT, or any app that supports MCP connectors — to Field PM. Ask about budgets and hours in plain English, pull reports in the format you want, and hand it a stack of LEMs to turn into daily reports. Each person connects as themselves, so the AI only sees what their role can see, and Field PM checks every change before anything is saved.
“How many hours have we burned on underground conduit at the Midland job, and how much budget is left?” “Which phase codes on 24-118 are over 90% of their hours?” “Who worked more than 50 hours last week?” The AI looks it up in Field PM — budget vs. actual by phase code and building, labor by person or code, daily reports, Pay Week — and answers in a sentence, a table or a chart. No exports, no pivot tables, no waiting on the office.
Monday look-ahead for the owner meeting: “Summarize last week’s daily reports for every active job — crew size, hours, work done, delays, safety items — one paragraph per job.” Month-end: “Give me hours by phase code for September as a CSV for payroll.” Bid review: “Compare actual hours per unit on the last three dorm buildings against what we bid.” The AI pulls the numbers from Field PM and writes the report your way, every time you ask.
Drop a week of signed LEMs, a foreman’s timesheet photo or a sub’s spreadsheet into the AI and say “file these as daily reports.” It reads the sheets with your own AI account, matches each person, job, phase code and truck to what is in Field PM, and shows you the plan first: which reports it will create, which already exist, the hours on each. You say go; Field PM saves them as ordinary foreman reports on the budget, the Job Book and Pay Week — or marks them Needs coding for a PM to check the phase codes.
An AI is fast, not always right. So Field PM never takes its word for it: every write is checked first as a dry run. An unknown phase code, a name that is not on your People list, more than 24 hours in a day — nothing is saved, and the AI is told exactly which line to fix. Sending the same report again replaces it only when you say so, so hours never double. Every call is logged.
Your admin turns the connector on once in Settings → Integrations. Then anyone on the team connects their own AI and signs in to Field PM as themselves. A PM’s AI sees their jobs, budgets and Pay Week, and can set up jobs and budgets. A superintendent’s AI loads hours for their jobs without seeing dollars. A foreman’s AI files that foreman’s own daily reports and nothing else. Customers and clock-only logins cannot connect. The admin sees every connection and can disconnect any of them in one tap.
The reading and writing happen in your own AI app, on your own AI account. Field PM sends it only the results it asks for — the jobs and numbers that person can already see — and never its code or anyone else’s data. Developers get the same actions as a REST API and an OpenAPI spec for scripts, Zapier or a custom GPT.
Claude (as a custom connector) and ChatGPT (as a connector in developer mode), plus any other AI app that supports MCP connectors. Developers can also use the same actions through the Field PM REST API and its OpenAPI spec, for example in a custom GPT, Zapier or their own scripts.
It can only add what its person is allowed to add, and only after Field PM has checked it. Every write is a dry run first; if any line is wrong, nothing is saved. There is no delete action at all. Anyone can connect read-only, and your admin can disconnect any connection at any time.
See the foreman’s own jobs, their budgets in hours, daily reports and labor, and file that foreman’s own daily reports. It cannot see Pay Week, contract values or other people’s money numbers, and it cannot file reports as someone else.
The connector itself is included in Field PM. The AI work — reading your LEMs, writing summaries, answering questions — runs in your own Claude or ChatGPT account, under your own plan with that provider.
No. Each connection is signed in as one person in one company and sees only what that person can see. The AI receives data results, never Field PM’s code, database design or anyone else’s records.
An admin opens Settings → Integrations → AI connector and taps Turn on. The card shows the connector URL to paste into Claude or ChatGPT, and the step-by-step guide in Help walks each person through connecting.
